Newly renovated, many people said, “Have you checked out Cindy Klassen on Sargent?”. So, I did. The one thing that everyone raved about is that the track is no longer in the basement, which I understand was a bit of a downer back in the day. I really liked the track, the high ceilings, big windows and open concept of the gym!
Once again, that yucky city changeroom, with wet floors and that musty pool air. I do like the smell of chlorine though. Whats good for those who don’t, is you can’t smell it on the gym floor, unlike some city centres. They have the public lockers with coin operated ones as an option. $6.25 for a guest pass, and approximately $450 for an annual membership which is very affordable.
The gym ain’t bad, with 1/2 size dumbbells ie: 17.5 lbs or 22.5 lbs (which I always appreciate) Again, lots of space to workout with weights and machines, I gather the space is wheelchair accessible.
The cardio section wasn’t particularly impressive with some lower end model equipment (4 under repair at the time), only 2 televisions and no cardio theatre on either of them. Over all they have what one would need, but I have seen better city gyms in Winnipeg…. for example St. James Centennial, for the same price!
